Begüm is an honoured graduate of Bilkent University Music and Stage Arts Faculty where she started her education of horn with Prof. Mahir Cakar.

In 1997, she won the exams of International Youth Symphony Orchestra in Bayreuth, Germany and acquired the right to play three years on the row with scholarship. Here, Begüm had the chance to work with Christian Lampert. Within this period, Lary Livingston - University of California Music Department Dean and orchestra chief- provided her a scholarship to play in the Idyllwild Festival Orchestra in USA.

Begüm has attended various workshops and youth orchestras abroad. In 2002, she has completed her Masters education in the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory with Cem Köse. She has posts in Akbank, CRR, Istanbul Flarmony ,Tekfen Flarmony and Borusan Flarmony Orchestras, Milli Reasurans Orchestra. Besides her above mentioned posts, Begüm is working as a Researcher in the Mimar Sinan university State Conservatory.

Begüm is aiming to spread and popularize the ‘Copper Wind Instruments’ through the groups she founded, Golden Horn Brass Quartet and Q Artist.
