Melek is a graduate of the Department of Photography of Mimar Sinan University. She started her career in the Antrakt Cinema Magazine and continued in various advertisement photography studios. She worked as the Photograph Editor of Max magazine within 2000-2002.

Melek was trained to First SectionTai Chi Form by Jorge Ruizie – Instructor of Bodhi Dharma War Arts Institute- in 1995. She was further trained to Tai Chi 24 Form by Prof. Xue Wei June – Instructor of Pekin Physical Training- in 1996. Melek started instructing Tai Chi in Yeni Yüksektepe Kültür Dernegi where she received her trainings.

Melek is giving group and private Tai Chi Chuan lessons in addition to her free lance photographer career.
