Didjeridu Workshop

Learning the Didjeridu as Sound Therapy and Meditation

Learn how to make and play the didjeridu, the oldest and most primordial form of sound as medicine.

Become an instrument of peace.

The very act of playing the didjeridu invokes an instant state of meditation and relaxation. In this three-hour class, we will be discussing the history of the didjeridu and why the Earth is calling so strongly for this medicine to be spread across the planet.

The didjeridu is the oldest known instrument, dating back to at least 50,000 years ago. Before the Europeans visited Australia 200 years ago, this instrument was known only to the Aborigines of Australia. Now, at a time when the planet needs it most, it is found everywhere on Earth.

At ceremonies or coroborees, the didjeridu provided musical accompaniment to dances, telling stories of creation.

The Aborigines have described the sound of the didjeridu as "re-creating creation" through the continuous tone, insuring the cycles of life on Earth would continue and flourish in harmony. The Aborigines consider humans as caregivers of the Earth, stewards of this planet. Playing the didjeridu is part of this continual prayer, reconnecting us to the center of the creative force.

The class includes how to make and play the didjeridu, how to circular breathe, and it’s connection to other aspects of sound therapy, an ancient and rapidly re-awakening healing art form.

Didjeridu workshops have been done mostly in the US , also in Netherlands, Germany, Japan, England.

Duration of didjeridu workshops are usually about 3 hours. Also it is possible to do one in two hours and do two or three in a day. It is better to have not much more than 30 people in a workshop, so each participant can get some personal attention while making the didjeridu and learning the techniques.
