PORTAL is a synergy of music created with the intention of opening a window for the group to enter, a sacred space of healing, peace, and connection to Earth and Cosmos. Using instruments from around the world, holding a clear intention of divine harmony, PORTAL creates a space for people to journey within and discover states of higher consciousness and optimum potential. Combining these ancient healing frequencies with fractal imagery projected in high-definition resolution, the group can enter a space which opens the soul to other realms, and allowing for the possibility to enter states of non-ordinary reality. This group shamanic journey can be a great source of healing for the individuals and larger community, as we return to the world with a renewed sense of meaning, purpose, and peace.

Kimba is a performer, teacher and recording artist, and a musician since age seven with classical training in piano and flute. She received a B.S. in molecular and cellular biology at the University of Arizona in 1993. While attending acupuncture graduate school studying Chinese Taoist Medicine, she was introduced to sound therapy. Since then she has developed her own practice, grown out of extensive subtle energy training in sound as medicine, herbology, Reiki (master level), crystals, flower essences, and aromatherapy. She also works with light and color, and has incorporated these diverse elements into a multi-dimensional approach to healing with her sound-therapy private practice. In a session she uses multiple forms of subtle energy techniques, a “vibrasound” bed and a hemi-synch light machine, yet the primary focus is on playing various indigenous and classical instruments in the human energy field, to accompany these other modalities. Her main instrument is the didjeridu, but she also plays multi-chambered Native American Flutes, four-chambered Celtic flute, Tibetan and crystal bowls, ting shas, tuning forks, and recites various therapeutic mantras from different cultures. She is the founding member of HEARTHERAPY and GAEARTH, dedicated to educating and assisting the planet in gentle awakening through sound.

Kimba travels internationally doing peace music concerts, conferences, workshops, and sound therapy sessions. Kimba's sound therapy CDs include Gaearth Dreaming, Peace Journey, The Healing Didjeridu, Creation’s Tone, and Self-Healing with Sound and Music with Kimba Arem and Dr. Andrew Weil.

Jonathan Wolfe

Jonathan Wolfe, Ph.D.: Visual engineer, live fractal video projection High definition 30x30 fractal projection portal, shown with live music

Jonathan Wolfe earned his doctorate in visual neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania in 1996. He first discovered the beauty of fractals while a student at the Albuquerque Academy in 1987, and he has been eagerly teaching people about fractals ever since. He first brought fractal education into schools in 1999 at Alameda Elementary School. The enthusiasm for math, science and art shown by children as young as 6 inspired him to continue teaching fractals, and in 2003 he formed the Fractal Foundation.

In addition to lecturing and teaching diverse audiences about the concepts of Chaos Theory and fractals, Dr.Wolfe is also a renowned artist best known for creating several fabulous fractal-inspired flying artworks (which can be seen at SkyDyes!) Ballooning is inherently an exercise in Chaos Theory, and Dr. Wolfe loves sharing the art and science of ballooning with audiences everywhere. By grasping the chaotic dynamics of the atmosphere, he can successfully navigate to a goal. By creating the world's largest fractal images and printing them on balloon fabric, the Fractal Foundation can reach an audience of millions, educating and inspiring them about the possibilities of blending art, science, and technology.
