Create original prints using a hand print method (one which students can do later at home):

This is a wonderful hands on process with many applications!

~students will take a basic design and draw it with pencil onto small blocks (sheets) of soft linoleum
~ using carving tools students cut the design into the linoleum block
~using water~based inks, students will be shown how to apply inks with a roller onto the linoleum
~ students will transfer the ink onto paper using hand pressure
~simple black and white prints will be made
~Carolyn will also demonstrate how to create multiple colour designs, how to print a series (or edition), and the proper way to sign an original print

4 hours to create a design, cut the design and print it. Include demonstrations in black , white and colour printing.
